Usher: A Vast Career and a Thriving Future

Usher Raymond IV was born in Texas, specifically in Dallas. In his early years, he started to discover his gift while he was part of St. Elmo’s missionary Baptist Church choir. He himself explains that his passion has always been music; in fact, he thought about playing football and other sports, but his real interest and dreams were completely focused on music.

To try to summarize Usher’s versatile musical career is too difficult; he has succeeded in so many different spheres that these words will not be enough; but what I am sure is that the eminence of his career delights people from all around the world.

Among the prizes he has been granted, it is worth mentioning the Grammy Awards in 2001, 2002 and 2005; for R&B Male Vocal Performance, two years running, R&B Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals (with Alicia Keys), Contemporary R&B Album (for his most recent production "Confessions"), and Rap/Song Collaboration. Of course he has been conferred hundreds of prizes from different music oriented organizations; for instance, Billboard-AURN R&B/Hip-Hop Award, Soul Train Music Awards, People's Choice Awards, Billboard Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, etc.

His inspiration comes from his soul, as well as his compassion and philanthropy; actually he is part of several community activities; for example, in the NBA "Stay In School" program he carried out numerous celebrations entertaining students with the purpose of showing them the importance of education.
