Emmaus Road Reaches #3 On WPFF Radio's Top 40 Chart

Emmaus Road, a new contemporary Christian band from Southern California, climbs to the #3 spot on 90.5FM WPFF Radio in Wisconsin with a song off of their debut CD, Seven Mile Journey.

SIMI VALLEY, CA (PRWEB) April 5, 2006 -- Emmaus Road has been hard at work promoting their debut release "Seven Mile Journey" (DT4JC Music Company), and their efforts appear to be paying off. 90.5FM WPFF Radio (http://www.wpff.com), a major Christian radio station outside of Green Bay, WI, has been supporting the band by placing several songs on regular airplay rotation. The first song to hit the WPFF airwaves, "Glorify Your Name," has already climbed to the #3 spot as of this writing.

Members of Emmaus Road are no strangers to contemporary Christian music. Brothers Dean & Tony Palacio have already released two popular praise CDs through their home church, Blessed Hope Chapel (http://www.blessedhopechapel.org), where they are also the worship directors. ER drummer, Robbie Destocki, also provides the drums on both releases, co-producing the second praise release, In Your Presence, along with the Palacio's. In 2004, Dean, Tony, Robbie, and female vocalist Charlotte Laystrom teamed up to form Emmaus Road. They recorded and produced their 10 song debut release, writing 6 of the 10 songs, then started shopping the CD to various radio stations. In summer 2005 they had the privilege of traveling around the U.S. to share their music. One stop along the way was a Christian music festival in Porterfield, Wisconsin called Powerfest Christian Music Festival (http://www.powerfest.us). The sponsor of the festival was WPFF Radio and station manager, Dr. Mark Schwarzbauer. He liked what he heard at the festival, asked the band back for their July 2006 event, and began playing their music on his station. Over the next 15 weeks "Glorify Your Name" began traveling up their Top 40 chart, eventually reaching #3 as of this writing.

"We realize how tough it is to break your music into radio," admits Tony Palacio (bass and vocals) "and Dr. Mark has been so supportive of our music. With so much great music, and artists looking for airplay, we understand how huge this really is." No doubt, program managers have a tough job weeding through all of the music landing on their desks. But Emmaus Road have been fortunate enough to catch the ear of WPFF's Program Manager not once, but several times. "Glorify Your Name" is actually the fourth song that has been on regular rotation on WPFF since 2005. Other ER songs that have aired are "Meet With Me," "Your Love," and current regular rotation song, "Turn to You," which happens to be sitting at the #21 spot as of this writing. "Maybe this success story will catch on closer to home. We'd love to have songs playing here in our local area, so our family, friends and local fans can hear us on the radio, too."
