Born in Brooklyn, New York, Steve Lawrence is known for being an occasional actor and an American singer. He got married to Eydie Gormé, who is also an American singer, and both are parents of two sons. This couple has been performing as a duo since 1960; they have had shows in Las Vegas, Nevada and on Steve Allen’s The Tonight Show in the mid 1950’s.

In regards to his achievements, Lawrence has gotten a Drama Critics Circle and a Tony Award nomination for performing in What Makes Sammy Run on Broadway, and two Emmy Awards. Besides, he also performed as Fran’s father in the last season of The Nanny. Together with his wife, he has earned two Emmys for Our Love is Here to Stay, which is a homage to Ira Gershwin and George.

They have been the greatest entertainers in show business and have spent most of their adult life doing what they love the most, singing and acting. The 2000 year was special and unique for this couple because they celebrated their 40th anniversary, as one of the most famous and admired singing duos of all time. It was in 1960, when they introduced on stage as “Steve and Eydie". Their “Diamond Jubilee World Tour” with Frank Sinatra has been one of the most remarkable events of their careers.
