Born in Kirksville, Missouri, Rhonda Vincent is an excellent and multifaceted bluegrass soloist, and of course instrument player; she accurately plays the guitar, mandolin and fiddle. Her passion for music started very early in her childhood, and her family had a band. She was born on July 13, 1962.

Her steps towards notoriety started in the 70’s and 80’s and received the respect of her male colleagues who grasped her capacity and talent. She has been granted several honors from the Society of the Preservation of Bluegrass Music Association as female singer. She was also given the Female Vocalist of the Year Award, from 2000 to 2005 by the International Bluegrass Music Association.

During the 90’s, she signed a contract with Giant Records, which is located in Nashville, but during this period she mainly dealt with country music, and it was not very thriving for her career. She released two country albums, but they both failed; therefore, she decided to join Rounder Records; with this recording company, her albums were very successful and she returns to the bluegrass scene.

Recently, in the year 2000, she released the album “Back Home Again",“The storm Still Rages,” and the most recent which features Alison Krauss, “One Step Ahead,” was released in 2003.

She comes back to the sceneries full of positive energies and with the talent and freshness that bluegrass embraces.
