The first Spider-Man film was released on May 3, 2002. This movie starred Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker, Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson, Willem Dafoe as Norman Osborn/The Green Goblin and James Franco as Harry Osborn. This movie is the adaptation of the Amazing Spider-Man comic book of Marvel and is focused on the origins of this hero, his fight against his first enemy and his struggle to show his true feelings to the woman that he loves. Spider-Man was directed by Sam Raimi. The sequel of this movie was released in 2004 and the third movie will open in theatres on May, 2007.

The two Spider-Man films have a soundtrack. The soundtrack of the first movie includes songs of artists such as: Chad Kroeger, Sum 41, The Hives, Macy Gray, Aerosmith, Alien Ant Farm, Corey Taylor and Danny Elfman, among others. The hit singles of this album are “Hero” (Chad Kroeger) and “What We’re All About” (Sum 41). The soundtrack of Spider-Man 2 features songs of Dashboard Confessional, Train, Hoobastank, Jet, Yellowcard, Maroon 5, Midtown, The Ataris, Lostprophets, Smile Empty Soul and Danny Elfman, among others. The hit singles of this soundtrack are: “Vindicated” (Dashboard Confessional) and “Ordinary” (Train).
