Lost is a television series created by J.J. Abrams, Damon Lindelof and Jeffrey Lieber. It airs on the ABC network and it is produced by Bad Robot Productions and Touchstone Television. This drama tells the story of the survivors of a plane crash on a deserted island full of mysteries.

Michael Giacchino is the composer and producer of the soundtrack of Lost. Most of the music used on this drama is original and orchestral and incorporates several recurring themes for the characters and the events, although some pop culture songs have been used too. Some methods used to achieve the sound that Giacchino envisions are extremely creative; for instance, one method that they use is the strike of suspended pieces of the fuselage of a plane. The Hollywood Studio Symphony Orchestra performs the score of this series.

On March 21st, 2006, a record label called Varese Sarabande released the soundtrack of Lost; it includes full length versions of the themes that are heard on this television series. The list of tracks of this soundtrack includes: the “Main Title” song, “The Eyeland”, “Hollywood and Vines”, “Departing Sun”, “Proper Motivation”, “Getting Ethan”, “Kate’s Motel”, “I’ve Got A Plane To Catch” and “Oceanic 815”, among others.
