Eminem is one of the most popular and controversial rappers of all time. His real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III and he was born on October 17, 1972. Rapper/producer Dr. Dre discovered Eminem; when he heard the tape of Eminem for the first time, Dre thought that Marshall was black. Eminem has won many awards, including several Grammy and a Best Song Oscar for Lose Yourself from the soundtrack of 8 Mile. Eminem is the second highest selling rapper of all time behind Tupac Shakur (2Pac).

The rapping skills of Eminem along with his lyrical talent earned him the respect of the hip hop and rap industry. Some of the topics of his songs are: his childhood and his relationship with his mother, his relationship with his wife Kim Mathers, drugs and self-abuse, being white in a business of black people, growing up in a black neighborhood, raising his daughter Hailie Jade and his niece Alaina and the United States government.

This artist has his own record label, Shady Records, a sublabel of Aftermath Entertainment; it was created in the year 2000. He is also a producer of rap records; he was the executive producer of the two albums of D12 and the producer of some songs of Obie Trice and 50 Cent. Eminem was also a member of D12, he helped them reach popularity and all of the members of D12 have appeared on some of the songs of Eminem. He is also known as Slim Shady. Eminem is also an actor; he made cameo appearances on movies like Da Hip-Hop Witch and The Wash and was the main star on 8 Mile.
