Josh Groban is a very well-known songwriter and singer, who is characterized by his baritone voice, meaning a male voice of intermediate pitch, between tenor and bass.  Joshua Winslow Groban, which is his real name, was born in L.A., California on February 27, 1981.  His father was a Jew and his mother was Norwegian.  Josh started to get immersed in the music field when he was just in 7th grade.  Later on, when he had worked at the Carnegie Mellon University’s theater department for a year, the Warner Bros. Records offered him a recording contract through 143 Records.

Some time after, Josh Groban performed with Sarah Brightman during her 2000-2001 La Luna tour.  His first album, which was self-titled and was released in 2001, went gold and double platinum.  A year after, he performed in the Winter Olympics and had his own Public Broadcasting Service special named Josh Groban in Concert.  In December of that same year, he performed at the Nobel Peace Price concert made in Norway.  Furthermore, in 2003, he launched his second disc titled Closer, which reached #1 on the Billboard charts.

One great project he was in charge of was the performance of the film Troy’s soundtrack. In addition, in 2004, he performed the movie The Polar Express’ soundtrack. In November of this year too, he released Live at the Greek, his second live DVD. Other appearances comprise Larry King Live, 20/20, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Rosie O’Donnell Show, The Today Show, The Rockefeller Tree Lighting and Jay Leno.  Hence, despite Josh Groban is a young artist, many older musicians would, definitely, envy his artistic career.
