Vinnie Vincent Invasion was a Glam metal band that former KISS guitarist Vinnie Vincent formed upon his departure of KISS. This band also featured Robert Fleischman (former singer of Journey), Dana Strum (bass) and Bobby Rock (drums). When Vinnie Vincent Invasion released All Systems Go, their second album, Robert Fleischman was replaced by Mark Slaughter. This band was recognized because of the mix of blazing sleazy metal of their sound. Vinnie Vincent Invasion projected a shocking glam image that was not of the liking of Robert Fleischman, who left the band after the release of the first album.

The debut album of this band was recorded by Chrysalis Records, who had signed Vinnie Vincent Invasion to an eight album, $4 million contract. This debut album was an instant success; it even reached the Billboard Top 100. As mentioned before, Mark Slaughter replaced Robert Fleischman as the lead singer of the band but his relationship with Vinnie Vincent was extremely tense and when the new management of Chrysalis Records told the band that they wanted Mark Slaughter as the main focus of the group, the internal tension within the band grew. Despite enjoying some success with their second album, in 1988, Vinnie Vincent Invasion separated. After the breakup of the band, Mark Slaughter and Dana Strum formed a successful band called Slaughter and Bobby Rock became famous as the drummer of Nelson.
