Damn Yankees was a rock group that was formed in 1989. The members of this group were: Tommy Shaw (Styx), Ted Nugent, Jack Blades (Night Ranger) and drummer Michael Cartellone. It was said that the band got their name because of the musician of the same name but Ted Nugent explained that he came up with that name because when someone asked him about the way that he and Tommy Shaw would sound if they played together, he answered saying that they would probably sound like a group of damn Yankees.

The debut album of this band was self-titled and received double-platinum discs for its sales. Some of the hit singles that it includes are: “Damn Yankees”, “Comin’ of Age” and a rock ballad called “High Enough”, which was the first #1 best sold single in the career of Ted Nugent. After releasing their debut album, the band went on a world tour that lasted approximately one year and a half. In 1992, they went platinum again, this time with Don’t Tread On Me, their second album. The song Don’t Tread On Me was extremely popular in the Barcelona Olympic Games. Despite this recognition, Don’t Tread On Me was not as successful as the first album. Some of the songs that are included in it are: “Mister Please”, “The Silence is Broken”, Where You Goin’ Now” and “Don’t Tread On Me.” This group was disbanded in 1993 but their power rock music will never be forgotten.
