Pearl Jam is a popular and influential grunge/rock band from Seattle, Washington. This band was formed in 1990 when the grunge movement began. Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains are considered the Big Four of grunge music. However, the most recent albums of Pearl Jam show that the band seems to be far from their roots. Despite this, they are one of the few grunge bands of the 90’s that remain active. Their large fan base continues to grow making them one of the most popular artists of the world.

This band used to have the name Mookie Blaylock in honor of the former basketball player of the NBA but they changed it to Pearl Jam after they signed with Epic Records. The current members of Pearl Jam are: Eddie Vedder (singer, guitar), Jeff Ament (bass guitar), Stone Gossard (rhythm guitar), Matt Cameron (drums) and Mike McCready (lead guitar). Former members of Pearl Jam are: Dave Krunsen (drums), Matt Chamberlain (drums), Dave Abbruzzese (drums) and Jack Irons (drums).

Some songs of Pearl Jam are: “Even Flow”, “Jeremy”, “Black”, “Disident”, “Better Man”, “Do the Evolution”, “Last Kiss”, "I Am Mine”, “Save You” and “World Wide Suicide.” The albums of Pearl Jam are: Ten, Vs., Vitalogy, No Code, Yield, Binaural, Riot Act and Pearl Jam. Their new album will be released on May 2, 2006. The album is self-titled and includes songs like “Comatose”, “Life Wasted”, “Gone” and “World Wide Suicide.”
