Reba McEntire is a country music singer who is recognized because she has won Grammy Awards and also because she is one of the best selling country music performers of all times. Her complete name is Reba Nell McEntire and she has released 29 albums and has sold more than 45 million of them around the world. Reba was born in McAlester, OK on March 28th, 1955. She is daughter of Clark Vincent McEntire and Jacqueline Smith.

She grew up about country music in the rodeos. At a very early age she created a band with her sisters (Susie and Alice) and her brother Pake and they started to play in the rodeos. The group was known as “The Singing McEntires”. This band was really successful locally especially with their song “The Ballad of John McEntire” (their grandfather). One day Red Steagall recommended Reba go to Nashville, TN to begin a career as a singer.

When she was in Nashville, Mercury Records signed her and with them Reba started her career. Her first hit singles are entitled “Three Sheets in the Wind “and "I’d Really Love to See You Tonight”. But those were not her major hits. The best single of Reba is the song named “(You Lift Me) Up to Heaven” which was released in 1980.

By 1984 she signed with another recording company (MCA Records) and after that she started to be the best selling country singer of all times. As mentioned above, McEntire launched 29 albums among the years 1997 and 2003 and has sold more than 45 million copies around the world.
