WOW Hits 2006: Music from Heaven!

WOW Hits refers to a series of compilations which are released annually as a way to promote Christian Music. The name WOW was deliberately chosen with the aim of competing against the popular Now! series. In 1996, the first album of the series was released and was also the first to achieve that Word Records, Sparrow Records and Reunion Records, which were the most important Christian recording companies, working together in this project.

From that moment, EMI Christian Group has been in charge of the production, distribution and marketing for the WOW compilations. WOW series is the most important in its genre since it gathers the most important singles, singles that are not only to enjoy but also give hope to all those who do not have any.  Since their first release, WOW Hits consists of two CDs compiling the songs that have been submitted by the partner labels. Of course, this last release WOW Hits 2006 is not the exception.

WOW Hits 2006 brings this year 30 songs and three bonus singles. The first CD has Casting Crowns’ “Voice Of Truth”, Chris Tomlin’s “Holy Is The Lord”, Nichole Nordeman’s “Brave”, Mercyme’s “Homesick”, Steven Curtis Chapman’s “Much Of You”, Third Day’s “You Are Mine”, Natalie Grant’s “Live For Today”, Newsboys’ “Presence”, Michael W. Smith’s “Healing Rain”, Mark Schultz’ “He Will Carry Me”, Point Of Grace’s “I Choose You”, Amy Grant’s “Carry You”, Bebo Norman’s “Nothing Without You”, Audio Adrenaline’s “King”, Selah’s “All My Praise” and the bonus Robbie Seay Band’s “Better Days”.

However, if you are not satisfied with this, what is very difficult to believe, there is even more in the second CD: “Take You Back” (Jeremy Camp), “Mirror” (BarlowGirl), “Hide” (Joy Williams), “Atmosphere” (Tobymac), “God Will Lift Up Your Head” (Jars Of Clay), “About You” (Zoegirl), “Be My Escape” (Relient K), “Strong Tower” (Kutless), “Here Is Our King” (David Crowder Band), “All That I Can Do” (Bethany Dillon), “The Space In Between Us” (Building 429), “Pure” (Superchick), “Beautiful Love” (The Afters), “The Way To Begin” (Krystal Meyers), “You're Worthy Of My Praise” (Big Daddy Weave), and the bonuses “Open My Eyes” (Inhabited) and “Perfect Day” (Josh Bates).
