From Liverpool, England, thousands of fans followed John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, the members of The Beatles, in their most successful adventure of their lives: singing and composing innovative music, style and films. The Beatles is one of the most influential rock bands breaking records around the world. Their role within music history is valuable since they first incorporated more innovations than any other band into popular music. Beyond just being a popular band, they were the best at what they did. Indeed, a large amount of people attended their concerts and presentations to enjoy their shows full of creativity and ability to inspire many different thoughts and communicate wonderful ideas.

These days, the Beatles’ domination and popularity as rock icons continues as if time had not stopped since their breakup in 1970. The most important contribution of this group is that they established the ideal prototype for a rock group willing to write and perform its own material. John Lennon and Paul McCartney, in particular, as singers, were the best vocalists in rock, thus the harmony of the group was exhilarating and complicated. As performers, they made use of advanced techniques and different arrangements. Besides, they were the first British rock group that made rock an international phenomenon due to their worldwide prominence.

The Beatles was the biggest musical band of the twentieth century because of their major success in the United Kingdom and the United States. In 1985, this band had sold over one billion records around the world. The song, “Yesterday,” written and sung by Paul McCartney is the most-covered song in the history of music.

Although their early compositions were based on rock ‘n’ roll with occasional ballad, they then develop abilities as arrangers and composers throughout years. It is important to highlight the fact that the main characteristic of their songs is their focus on melody. In addition, they also included songs with country, folk, blues, soul, rockabilly, doo-wop, and much more music genres.

The influence of the Beatles extends beyond the social and cultural revolutions of the 1960’s since they had their own hairstyles, clothes and musical instruments. For all their artistic success and achievements, the Beatles have been considered the most famous rock band of all time.
