Snoop Dogg is a rapper, record producer and actor. He was born on October 20, 1971 in Long Beach, California and his real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. He is known as an MC in the hip hop scene of the West Coast and as one of the most notable protégés of Dr. Dre. The origin of his nickname dates back to when his mother called him Snoopy because of how his eyes looked. Then, he took the name Snoop Doggy Dogg for his first records. In 1996, he left Death Row Records, signed with No Limit Records and changed his name to Snoop Dogg. Several cousins of Snoop Dogg became rap and hip hop artists; some of them are: Nate Dogg, Daz Dillinger and RBX. His lyrical delivery is laid-back and complex. Some of the lyrics of his songs are misogynic.

This rapper has appeared in movies such as: I Got the Hook Up, Half Baked, Hot Boyz, Urban Menace, The Eastsidaz, Crime Partners 2000, Baby Boy, Training Day, Bones, The Wash, Pauly Shore is Dead, Old School, Starsky & Hutch, Soul Plane, Boss’n Up and The Tenants.
