Biz Markie is known as the Clown Prince of hip hop. His real name is Marcel Hall; he was born on April 8, 1964 in Harlem, New York. He has funny singles like "Just a Friend".

In the 80’s, Biz began to rap in nightclubs like the Roxy and the Funhouse. In 1985, Biz Markie met producer Marley Marl and then began to work as a human beatbox for MC Shan and Roxanne Shanté and recorded his first demos. In 1988, Biz signed a record deal with a label called Cold Chillin' and in that same year, he successfully released his first single, "Goin' Off".

This artist reached the top in 1989 when he released a single called "Just a Friend". This song features rapped verses combined with out of tune choruses. "Just a Friend" reached the Top Ten list and is included in the album The Biz Never Sleeps, which won a gold record.

Biz Markie appeared on Celebrity Fit Club in 2005, a show that features celebrities trying to lose weight. Marcel Hall (Biz Markie) won the contest. He also made an appearance alongside Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones in the movie Men in Black II.
