Casting Crowns is a soft rock Christian band established by the vocalist and Pastor Mark Hall. The band is composed of six more members: Juan DeVevo (electric and acoustic guitarist and vocalist), Melodee DeVevo (vocalist and violinist), Hector Cervantes (electric guitarist and vocalist), Chris Huffman (bassist), Megan Garrett (keyboardist, accordionist and vocalist) and Andy Williams (drummer). They started playing in a youth group before Steven Curtis Chapman discovered and got them a contract.

Although they are today one of the best selling artists within Christian music, their success relies on their mission and work with teenagers and young people who, for some reason, had lost faith and need spiritual relief. More than the profit they can make from an album or single, Casting Crowns are providing desperate people with a relationship with Jesus. They give them a message of hope by getting them to understand that they are loved by God, the king of the universe, even if they think nobody loves them. For Casting Crowns, music is not a business; it is a way to talk with people about God’s love.

This message combined with memorable sounds and melodies have given birth to some of their most successful albums and hits. Two years after their album debut Casting Crowns in 2003, they released their most successful and relevant album Lifesong, which even was #9 in the United States. This album includes the songs “Does Anybody Hear Her”, “While You Were Sleeping”, “Stained Glass Masquerade”, “Love Them Like Jesus”, “Praise You In This Storm”, and “In Me”. Casting Crowns has received 13 nominations and have won 7 GMA Music Awards. In 2006, they won a Grammy Award for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album with “Lifesong”.
